swept away

i think everyone should see swept away. it’s a relatively old film, which stars madonna. it’s about a tragic love. madonna, married to a rich guy, can have everything she wants until a sudden turn of events make her the "servant" of her servant in the yacht. they fall in love but didn’t end up together. most of the people who have seen it didn’t like it. it was actually a flop in the states. but really, it’s a good movie. it’s really funny at the beginning. the humor in the movie will just make you roll over from laughing. and of course, the tragic ending will make you cry. and when the credits start rolling, you’ll still watch it till the end. the ring will just hold you to your seat. and the music of the movie is just GREAT.

–why can’t great loves end happily ever after?

beauty tips and more

i was in the body shop last night planning to buy a concealer. i was trying the different types of concealer when the saleslady approached me and helped me with my purchasing process. she recommended a certain shade and i asked what its difference was with another shade (besides knowing that one is darker). she told me that the shade she recommends is made for my skin tone, my pink skin tone. what the heck. they just lost a customer. where did that come from? that’s what i call a person who doesn’t know her job well. god, they’re everywhere. anyway, people close to me know that i was born with yellow skin. when i was born, the doctors did some tests to me because they thought something was wrong with me. like i was sick or something because of my skin color (maybe i was so yellowish). and when they got the results, they told my mom that my skin is just really yellow. wow.

anyway, i thought i’d share some tips concerning vanity that i got from experience and from friends:)

  1. shampoo your hair everyday. i know that the formulation of shampoo might be strong but hair is always dirty by the end of the day and the only way to clean it is to shampoo it everyday.
  2. conditioner is one solution to those little hair that keeps shooting up your scalp.
  3. always wash your face. duh! from all the soaps i’ve tried for the face, i think neutrogena is the best. you might want to try it. but it dries the skin, just like any other soaps.
  4. moisturizer is a solution to pimples. it also prevents the skin from being dry. always put it during the day and at night. one that is water-based and oil-free is highly recommended.
  5. always put lotion on your feet! saves you from getting a foot spa.
  6. have dark spots on your body? fear no more. if you don’t have time to use natural stuff, like lemon or calamansi, as a remedy to those dark spots, eskinol always works.
  7. always have a hand cream with you! it prevents those little skin near your fingernails from showing.
  8. have a manicure or a pedicure just when you feel like you really, really, really need it. it’s kinda bad if you have it regularly.
  9. in case you have a manicure and a pedicure regularly, don’t always put nail polish. acetone can make your fingernails yellowish.
  10. people say that coffee has a lot of benefits for the body, but keep in mind that it dries the skin and makes you look old. you may want to lessen your coffee intake:)

love or something like it

is love complicated? or do we just complicate things? in wanting to make things simple, do you let go? or do you keep holding on, in hopes of a good future? if you let go, does it make things simple? or did you just make it worse? how do you know it’s time to let go? do you move on once things start to be simple?

is true love worth fighting for? what is true love in the first place? is there anyone courageous enough to fight for it? do you do something about your biggest what if?
